hello, i have a 97 900set that has been trouble since day 3. every saab problem that can occurre, has. the latest has been a saga that started in january 2011. its my mothers car and she blew a hose on the highway and kept going and did major damage to the engine. i didnt have time to replace it and she new somebody so we took it to them, big mistake. used engine and it leaked coolant from the day they put it in. after about 8 months of them trying to figure out what and where i finally took it somewhere else. they said they took the head off and had it checked, NOPE but broke 2 exhaust studs off. they said you need a new heater core, NOPE plus the new one leaked at the old o-rings. each time i would take it back they would have it for 2 weeks and say WE FIXED IT but never did. so i take it somewhere else and it needs a water pump and new freeze-out plugs and new o-rings for the heater core. then find out the headgasket is leaking and the first shop never had the head off like they claimed. i do the headgasket and send the head out to be checked and decked put it all back together and it runs great for 250 miles. 2 days ago i am on my way to a hardware store for work and i get the CEL/CGB lights and trans is in limp mode. when i leave the store the lights are still on but not in limp mode anymore. saab wants 100 just to tell me what the codes are but autozone does it for free. they say i have a small vacuum leak, dont remember the code but its at home, and the second code is shift solenoid b/ electrical code#P0758. i have an obd2 adaptor and scanner for my mazdaspeed but i find out i can use it on the saab so when i get home i reset them and try to duplicate the problem and cant. great, no problem. yesterday i come to work and about 2 hrs later im on my way to same store and it throws the lights again. i had my scanner with me and it just throws the shift solenoid b code again but not the vacuum leak. i reset and come back to work. i did it 2 more times, on my way to same store, after that but when i get off work i cannot make it happen again. maybe it doesnt like that hardware store. this morning on my way to work it was fine. i have replaced the NNS with a used unit that i took apart and cleaned and regreased, check all connections and they read fine. about 3 months ago i replaced the lower half of ignition switch because of broken return and that switch tested fine. i put installed new vacuum lines when i did the headgasket too. i am desperate at this point and out of money. please someone help. thanks, bucketheadd ps more to follow im sure and maybe someday ill write a post on all the fun crap ive had to do to keep the pit running
