Like with most SAAB problems, this one seems to have returned a few years later.
I really think it's the same issue I had before. The problem is my memory is fuzzy about what I did to fix back then. I know I had taken the SAAB to a general a/c shop at the time, and they claimed a "slow leak". I *think* drained and recharged with a dye. I also remember doing some work myself to try to see if the compressor was bad. Bringing a power lead down to the compressor or something like that.
Right now, what's going on is when I engage the A/C, I can hear something for a few seconds. Like a hissing noise. However, the compressor does not engage, and the air stays at ambient outside temp. Looking at the belt from topside, it looks like it's just moving around the compressor pulley as the problem I had before. Is this likely a bad relay , compressor , or both? The compressor has always been noisy and take a hit on the engine power when running. So, I would assume it's game to fail any day. Just need to diagnose this. Thanks.
