I have a '99 9-3SE that my younger daughter drives (175K) and my elder daughter is in a '00 9-3SE for (198K). Just got the '00 a few months back. It looks and drives as if it has maybe 90K instead of closing in on 200K. The '99 is a regular 2.0 engine with an autobox and while it goes okay and gets full boost, it's no rocket. The '00 has the HOT engine, a 5-speed and moves very nicely but not as fast as my 9K with a Stage 1 ECU. (which is fine since my kid is driving it). I bought it in GA and drove it home to NH and it was a very pleasant comfy ride.
Both were really well maintained by the previous owners and I have full records on both cars. Both are needing a few things but nothing really unusual for cars of their age.
And it's a lot cheaper than making payments and buying the higher insurance on newer cars. With a good indy and your own wrenching skills your car should run well for a long time. LIke any well-maintained Saab, they are a great value.
