It could that the electro magnet coil on A/C clutch goes open at high heat and works again when colder.
It could also be that the two slip surfaces on A/C clutch has worn to the point where the magnet is not capable pulling them together when hot.
In the first case you would have to replace the A/C clutch and the latter you could get away with removing a couple of shims behind the outer A/C clutch disc.
Both jobs takes some wrangling and a special puller tool and maybe loosen the A/C compressor from engine to make room to work on it.
