As always, since we don't know the capabilities and tool supply of each person, it's difficult to advice if you can do it yourself.
Some rebuild their engine home in the garage and others break the ignition cassette connector to pieces trying to change out the IDM, so you never know.
It's certainly not a dirt simple task and especially if you can't lift up the car in the air and work from under it when lowering the subframe to make room to snake the compressor out.
So I would say that you need to have been wrenching for awhile and know your way around changing out water pumps and such on these newer Saab's to be able to do it.
And then you have the matter of vacuum and recharging the system when you are done.
