Took it in to Indy, he won't do the clutch bearing only repair, he wants to do a new compressor ,.
Says that to do a proper repair even if he did only the clutch would require the compressor to be dismounted anyway..and that the costs wouldn't the that different...except that there would be additional labor to remove and install bearing, clutch plate etc, and of course warranty would not be available...
The labor costs to remove and reinstall bearings are factor...to be considered, let alone any surprises...
In addition he says my tensioner is getting dangerously close to the timing cover....
I guess the age of the car is a factor ....even though it only has 62k miles...
