Need to replace the Serpentine Belt on the Viggen Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Wed, 18 Sep 2013 17:57:40 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have done this a number of times with my 9-5s, but I am baffled with the absence of the huge aluminum mounting yoke for the engine.
Where are the engine mounts?
Do they need to be removed to replace the belt?
What are the steps to do this job on the NG900/Viggen?
Do I need to support ehe engine from below?
Can this be done fully from the top side?
Existing belt had two interior cords break today. I cut the first one free to continue my drive home and then saw two were missing when I looked at the engine in the garage. It also looks like the belt was mis-installed on the AC pulley (missed one rib of the pulley) and I wonder if that is related to the cords breaking. I don't want to drive the car in this condition other than up on a set of ramp - which I will need to modify to clear the low front valence.
Thanks.
