Driver's door thinks it's winter

The driver's door lock on my daughter's '00 9-3 SE feels like it's frozen solid, but it's not ice. It feels as if I'm using the wrong key.
I've lubed it with some PB Blaster, but no difference. The passenger door is fine and the key works in the ignition. My indy said he's had 2-3 other 9-3s have the same issue, but it still hasn't been resolved.
I suspect the lock cylinder is screwed up but not sure the best way to deal with it. Any ideas?
