PCV #6:
---------
Get the Saab PCV kit along with the two optional hoses mentioned in the TSB. You can find the TSB in the Tech Docs section at Genuine Saab.com.
You probably don't need the third small hose with the check valve in it. Instead, pick up a couple feet of oil and gas resistant 5/32 hose and reuse your check valve or get a generic one at the auto parts store.
Now is also a good time to get 10' of 5/32 vacuum hose and replace all the small vacuum hoses while you are in there doing the PCV system.
PAN DROP:
----------
Google will find you lots of write ups at other forums on the pan drop. I can't post any links here.
Parts needed:
Loctite anaerobic #518 sealant
(2) o rings for oil delivery tube
(1) o ring for oil pickup tube
(3) fresh nuts for downpipe/turbo connection
Optional: (2) new center subframe bolts
General process:
Break center subframe bolts free with car on ground. Don't loosen, just break free.
Jack car onto stands
Disconnect Oxy sensor connectors and drop free
Remove downpipe at turbo. Lower nut is a PITA on T7.
Disconnect at flex pipe and remove from under car.
Mark subframe location carefully with sharpie
Remove front and center subframe bolts
Wedge a 2x3 or 2x4 between frame and subframe on passenger side to get clearance for pan
Remove pan bolts
Whack pan with rubber mallet to break loose
Remove pan form under car
Unbolt oil pickup cover inside pan and remove oil pickup
Clean pan and all items with oven cleaner or degreaser
Get everything squeaky clean, especially gasket surface
Clean bottom of block where gasket surface is, I like a razor blade but be careful not to scratch the pan or block.
Under car, pull out oil delivery tube that runs across block and replace o-rings at either end
Replace o-ring on oil pickup tube and reinstall in pan with cover
Clean pan gasket surface and block with alcohol
Put a THIN coating of 518 sealant on pan gasket surface
Reinstall pan, taking care to tighten fasteners evenly and in stages all around. Use a cross pattern.
Reinstall subframe bolts, aligning with marks made before loosening.
Torque per specs
Clean ends of down pipe and turbo flange as needed.
Reinstall down pipe
Reconnect Oxy sensors
Drop off jacks
Refill with oil
Pull fuse 32 and crank for 30 seconds to bring up oil pressure
Start car, check for oil or exhaust leaks
Not a difficult job, but it will take you at least four hours to do, maybe more the first time.
