Be careful to get a 6x9 speaker that will fit. I got a set of Sony speakers that were sold as 6x9 but they did not fit. I returned them and bought another 6x9 Sony speaker that fit fine. I also removed the old connector from the original Saab speaker and fit it to the new Sony. This is a bit of work and you need a tool to suck off the solder but Radio Shack sell a couple of options. The alternative is to cut the factory connectors off and use standard spade connectors. I have listed the wiring code below.
Saab Audio Wiring Code
According to Saab Service Manual, Section 3:5 "Electrical system, Audio System" for Model Year (MY)1994 and MY1995 (no later MY information given unfortunately) the speaker wire color code is:
dash left channel + Brown/Gray
dash left channel - Brown
dash right channel + Brown/Red
dash right channel - Brown/Black
rear left channel + Brown/White
rear left channel - Brown
rear right channel + Black/Green
rear right channel - Black/White
mid-bass left door + Yellow/White
mid-bass left door - Orange/White
Mid-bass right door + Gray
Mid-bass right door - Brown/Red
