Lube "O" Ring and seals Posted by Johnhcarter [Email] (#471) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Johnhcarter) on Thu, 1 Jan 2015 10:09:20 In Reply to: Car is 2002 with 192k miles, 2002saaber, Wed, 31 Dec 2014 17:03:16 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I keep a container of Vasilne on he shelf for lubricating seals. As an example filling the inside of a seal having a spring will help keep the spring in place especially the axel seals when inserting the axel. I have noticed on the front crank seal that how far you seat the seal may push the seal past the polished section of the crank. I had to do this job twice until I got it right. As for the snap ring. Harbor Frieght has an inexpensive large snap-ring tool. Are you using a large strap wrench to hold the balance wheel while you torque the nut?
