Fold back the rear seats and see where the black plastic cap is located on the floor board, it should be off left center about 3 to 4".
Pop-off the lid, hopefully the fuel pump is "completely" exposed all the way around to remove it. If so, you are in luck! If not, you will have to tin snip a semi-circle around the covered floor board area to gain full access of the pump. You want to allow a portion of it to bend back so not to completely cut a full hole. Or, you can drop the fuel tank to get at the fuel pump, but I choose the tin-snip route for a faster exercise.
First, disconnect the battery. Remove the "T" bar covering the in and out valve connecters--"Carefully" pull up and wiggle out the only black and white fuel valve connectors with pliers and mark each on top of the fuel pump. Disconnect the electrical switch. Turn the retaining ring counter-clock wise (special tool eEuroparts or Rent,or very wide c-clamp)till completely free. Remove the pump "slowly" by pulling up and tilting the pump "bottom" towards the front of the front seats in order to clear the metal rod float. That should do it for you.
To reassemble: just do everything in reverse. But before you do that, replace the large O-Ring with new and lube it with Vaseline. Don't forget to align up the retaining ring marks with the fuel pump marks on top for proper alignment--very important. You can also check the many postings here for fuel pump replacement as well for more information. Good Luck.
