Still chasing sunroof leaks...ideas? Posted by NCCaniac [Email] (#352) [Profile/Gallery] (more from NCCaniac) on Wed, 29 Apr 2015 16:44:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So, I have been chasing water leaks around the sunroof on my 2000 9-3 for a while now. I thought I had it licked with the following:
1) Masked off sunroof glass on top to run a bead of black silicone caulk around the edge of the black metal edging that is sandwiched around the perimeter of the glass as water seemed to be seeping in around that.
2) Ordered new drain o-rings from eEuroparts and replaced them on the front drains that go down through the A-pillars (removed the A-pillar trim and dropped the front of the headliner to get to the plastic drain connectors that have the o-rings).
Last day of light rain, I left the 9-3 parked on a flat surface to see what would happen (prior to that I had been parking it inside or downhill if I could so I could encourage any water that got in around the sunroof tracks to run down to the front A-pillar drains). Sure enough, after a couple of hours things were damp around the sun roof as if the water was not draining as it should.
Is the only thing left the rear drains? Where exactly are they located and do they have the o-rings like the front drains?
