Stanchion Arm Torx Bolt

While replacing the control arm on my 99 9-3, i stripped the (T-55?)torx bolt holding the stanchion arm. Drilling and hammering didn't work so I sawzalled the old control arm in half, but still haven't got the bolt free/cut. Assuming i don't just get a new stanchion arm and cut this bolt is there a better alternative?
Eeuro wants $43 for this one torx bolt! What size could I pick up with a real head on it to not have this happen again. Plantonoff shows an older style that you can get a wrench on. Any help is appreciated.
