State of Nine sells these. They are an adhesive coated clear plastic disc that adheres to the face of the badge to prevent the enamel from popping off.
I have had good luck with hand rubbing wax onto the badge faces to seal any opening that water could enter - until last week. Mine have always seemed to fail in below freezing temperatures. I assumed it was water that seeped in by capillary action, then froze, expanded, and popped the enamel off. Hence my car wax idea. I suppose it could also be just differences in the rates of thermal expansion between the metal backer and the enamel.
