Kind words from the Saab Indy today Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Fri, 8 May 2015 16:56:45 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I dropped my Viggen off at the Indy last night to get some non-routine maintenance work done. Items that I had intended to DIY but for which I was unprepared for the fact they cannot been done from ramps as easily as the same items on my 9-5s.
He test drove the car after tightening the steering rack brace (more on that later) and commented on the tightness of the OG9-3 convertibles as opposed to the NG900 cars and maybe even the OG900s. Tight, tracks well, no cowl shake, and the doors are operable when the car is on the lift.
Apparently all of us with the steering rack brace installed should check and tighten this on 6-month intervals. My lower nut had backed-off by a half inch! I tightened per torque specs when installing this, then tightened it again a week later as per instructions. Next time I will use some thread lock too.
