Camshaft reinstallation Posted by Thomas333639 [Email] (#1880) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Thomas333639) on Tue, 1 Dec 2015 18:42:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a valve-tappet-like noise in my engine. The main problem was that the oil screen was completely clogged, preventing oil from getting to many of the upper parts. I then decided to inspect the camshafts brackets and cam followers for wear. Replaced some of the brackets and followers. When i removed the camshaft, i fixed the timing chain to the sprocket, so i would not lose the place (i just wired the chain to the sprocket, looping the plastic wire through one of the holes in the sprocket and pulling it tight so that the chain could not come off the sprocket. Now i cannot seem to get the sprocket back onto the camshaft. What's the proper procedure?
