85 degrees at the end of the day so I dropped the convertible top on my 2000 Viggen 'vert for the drive home. Instead of the usual Beep when the top cycled down I received the above message. Initially I thought maybe something didn't fold quite right. I got out of the car to check the tonneau cover and found it fully seated and unmoving under hand pull pressure.
I raised the top halfway and closed it a second time. Same message. I raised the top fully and closed it a third time. Same message.
So I am guessing it is either a bad latch mechanism that isn't locking. Or a bad limit switch which isn't indicating the latch has closed. Or a broken wire to either a latch or limit switch.
What is odd is that I do get the Beep sound when fully raising the top. I am now driving with the top in the up position until I get this fixed. I don't want any damage to the tonneau or top frame or top fabric incase a latch has failed to seat. But why the Beeps when raising the top? So maybe the final safety check for the top raised is a different set of latches?
Any good hints on where to look or good D-I-Y guides? My 9400 WIS, which I downloaded from the 'net, is not right with too much of it missing to be of much good.
Thanks,
