I am using my convertible as my daily driver for the next 10 days or so as my son is borrowing my 9-5 while his car is in the body shop. A lady in a mini-van crashed into his rear fender early last month causing less than $2K of damage. It has taken this long for the Insurance Co to decide what to do with his older car.
Anyway, it was 85 degrees when I left work today and I said "No way am I driving home with the top up!" I depressed the top down button and held it just long enough for the fifth bow (rear window) to raise and the tonneau cover to go full vertical. Then I shut things down and went looking for the limit switches. It was clear the driver's side switch lever was lower than the passenger side. I bent the lever tip slightly upward and the top then folded without an error message.
The driver's side switch didn't feel as reassuring as the passenger side. The lever moved quite a bit before it started to move the switch internals. So I probably need a replacement switch.
In the mean time I have top down cruising ahead of me again!
