Former SPGs owner here, and I really do enjoy driving the Viggen more than I thought I would. If left to me, anything mechanical that is replaceable/available is a no brainer. Rust, though, for a daily driver is where the hard decision is. I don't have an option to take the car off the road for days/weeks/months to dismantle it and adequately address it.
The other limit for me is my indy mechanic. I maintain the car for the enjoyment of driving/owning it. Its not a Honda so the repairs in which I choose to invest are often preventive and may not be practical by measure of other consumers or apparently service providers. Their attitude is much less supportive than it was when they helped me keep SPGs running for half a million miles and its a pain having to convince them to do that type of work. I can do some things but I need someone with a lift and more tools than I have, so this is also becoming a bit of a sticking point in the ownership experience, unrelated to the car itself.
