Power steering fluid or ATF, whichever you may have used, helps preserve rubber hoses. Many of us apply the stuff to our vacuum, coolant, and intake hoses as part of lubrication maintenance.
Should be fine for electrical wiring as well, in my opinion. It helps preserve plastic. A spray of fluid rather than sitting in a puddle probably won't enter any sensors to interfere with measurements.
Personally I'd clean it off where it looks bad, and leave the rest.
