Thanks Anders. This has happened over several tanks of gas so I'm less concerned about that being the culprit.
I have a wideband A/F ratio gauge and during these events it's sufficiently rich.... dipping down into the high 10's at the peak of the acceleration enrichment and then going back up into the high 11's/low 12's. If my MAF was going bad and causing pinging, wouldn't I see a lean condition?
Also I don't hear anything coming from the engine... would the pinging be noticeable?
