Coolant seepage from the backside of the water pump housing Posted by Roger D [Email] (#1121) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Roger D) on Sat, 7 Mar 2020 13:53:27 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Tracked down the source of my coolant loss. (The pump was replaced about 15K ago with a Hepu). I was seeing drops working their way down across the AC compressor and hitting the ground. Needing to top up coolant every few hundred miles. I got to the PS pump and pulled it away for visibility. Didn't see anything from the pump or adapter tube into the block. So I went to pressurizing the system. Then I could seepage from the metal pipe that goes into the rear of the pump housing. I loosened the pipe where both pipes attach on the block at the driver's side front corner. And pulled upper pipe from the 'U' shaped hose above the pump. What's the next step to pull the pipe from the rear of the pump housing and get access to the o-ring?
