2002 9-3 repairing rust..Ooooh. Posted by ThomasJ [Email] (#780) [Profile/Gallery] (more from ThomasJ) on Wed, 27 Jul 2022 11:51:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I already have a fairly nice NG900-SE6...that we really like, so I went looking for another..I found this 9-3SE, the body...nice, low miles, clean interior..what else could I ask for?...well, a bit of 'dog leg rust' on one side. The spare well is nice and clean....and now that I have taken it apart I'm finding hidden rust..I repaired the dogleg and noticed that the front foot-wells have/had a large plug (for whatever reason??) and they are both gone and there is rust around the lips of where they once were. I noticed that the interior sound padding is damp and the carpet is dry. The tar mat inside has a factory punched hole that replicates the plug holes...does anyone know if these were metal or rubber and do they seem to be prone to rust from the outside or inside? Not that it matters, it still needs repair.
