Hello:
So my automatic shifter stopped working the other day; it was stuck in Park - I could not shift it into any other gear. With some help, I found the issues is the point of attachment under the battery (cable and gear box) I got it towed to a shop, but they can't work on it (for a couple of reasons); and referred me to another shop (a SAAB guru).
I got a hold of the SAAB guru, however, he is retiring and isn't taking new clients. But he told me you can repair the end of the cable. The part that was suggested is from Autozone and it is common in some GM vehicles too.
Dorman Automatic Transmission Shift Cable Bushing 14057 is the part number suggested.
Is this something anyone else has done? I have worked on this car before, so i am not a complete novice, but it has been some time since i got under a hood. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
