There is a DIY kit from pixelfix.net, located in Hungary. I had the kit within about a week of ordering. Their site offers the repair as well but you'd obviously be without the unit for a period of time. I ordered two kits (as I now do for just about any part I obtain for a 25 year old car) but am waiting for more pixels to die before I try. Users here seem to have mixed success. II think it's a question of preparing surfaces well and lining everything up correctly. There is some extra padding included in the kit to place additional pressure at the contacts.
