nice to hear from another '94 900SET owner... not many of us. the only driverside lock porblems that i have is that sometimes if i insert my key 'backwards' (with the light button away from my thumb) or if i don't REALLY push it in to the lock, it wont turn at all. it i push it in all the way then it ususlly isn't aproblem. it feels to me like the key just isn't lining up. when i use the second key (never really used) i sometimes get that same stiff feeling. are you still using the same key? (not related- but had some of the silver coating worn off you key too?) you might want to try different keys and try them both ways "i.e. pull it out and flip it 180 degrees) while making sure to push the key firmly all the way in. This may help or do nothing for you, but at least it should give you a better idea (even if only slightly better) of what's going on in there.
and FYI, all '94 900 SET's were coupes with 5-speeds others didn't come 'til 95 (with keyless entery and a few other goodies we missed out on)
