I just read some more information you placed on the site in regards to your rear seal and clutch and all being replaced. You mentioned several shortcomings of the the Haynes manual. It is my understanding, after reading your post, that it is NOT necessary to remove the lower suspension frame, or crossmember? The seals I want to replace are the driveshaft seals, the rear seal and possibly the shift shaft seal. Basicly all the potential troublesome seals. I have the seals already, I have just been postponing the inevitible. Do you need the engine brace? The transmission also serves as one of the motor mounts does it not? It is comforting to know that the lower frame does not need to be removed. Any idea how the tranny weighs? I realize you did not do the work, I just thought you might know. I was going to hold off until I could no longer wait and then I was going to go ahead and replace the clutch and clutch string at the same time. Thanks for your help Dean.
When I went from Mobil 1 to Amsoil my leakage decreased. Much like yours did when you went to Mobil 1. I don't actually leak on the garage floor, I can smell it some times and the bottom of the bellhousing is grimy.
Later
Bryan
