The only true way to determine if the turbo and the associated components are working properly is to connect an external boost pressure gauge. Not all of us have the ability or time to do this. The easiest way to check, is by using your boost gauge in the car. If you (gradually) floor the accelator pedal in third, fourth or fifth gear, with the rpms at at least 2,400 rpm, by the time you get to 3,500 you should see your boost gauge on the end of the yellow area, possibly slightly in the red. Sometimes, depending on the load the vehicle is under, when you first floor the accelerator the boost gauge may go into the red zone about 1/8th to 1/4 of the way breifly then back to the end of the yellow zone. If you turbo gauge is doing all this you are probably fine. Be patient wait for more posts, you should get many different ideas. As far as performance, check the performance posts. There are a few things you can do to improve driveability, I'll let Dean handle those. Serious horsepower requires reprogramming the computer or adding an aftermarket boost valve, which Dean is extremely knowleageable about. Good Luck
