I have R1 17" wheels, 225/45/17 tires and Eibach springs on my 9-3.
First of all, the Abbott springs lower further than the Eibach -I saw this when my car sat next to my mechanic's NG900 with Abbotts, which was much lower especially in the rear.
As far as my setup is concerned; I've only had them on for 4 days but I think that they only rub marginally on the plastic part of the bumper trim to the rear of the wheel. This happens when the car is loaded and you pass over a bump at serious speed.
As for the Eibachs, I can say that with the original 15" wheels the ride quality is superb -better than stock in most situations- and the handling is marginally better than stock. The car looks like a skateboard though.
