Wow, I'm surprised you had that much trouble. I guess these cars do vary a lot unit to unit. It took me a little less than an hour to do both sides, including figuring out that I really did need that small pair of vice grips and then knocking on my neighbors door to borrow his. Like Baab, I did mine with the car on the ground, compressing the old shocks wasn't a problem. I guess they were _really_ dead at 65k.
