After tossing and turning thinking that someone might just turn on the engine at the dealer. They called this morning at work. First the claimed that they could not work on the car due to it not being a domestic. After conviencing them the mechanic agreed to work on the car. I explain what I thought was the proble was but they still had charge me $32 for there own diagnostics. About a half hour later another phone call stating that what I though was the problem. A oil change "top off" would be around $50. Another half hour passes and then they call stating that the oil can be cleaned off from another $70. After getting the story straight it turns out that the whole car should be fixed and cleaned for around $100. An hour passes and then the dealer calls stating that everything was done and the final cost was $141. No problem, for some reason I figured that the dealer would try to get around $150 and it seems that they did.
Picked up the car and after waiting about five minutes for the car to be pulled around to the front the car appears. The mechanic steps out and says that's a real nice car but I had the hardest time just finding the ignition. Just got home and everything seems fine. The mechanic also stated that no damage was done to the engine! He also had to add 4.2 quarts of oil to the car. The car literally had no oil in it. I smelled some oil burning when I got home but I assume that is expected considerating what happened. All I can say is thank god for Mobil one. If I had regular oil in the car who know what would have happened.
The lesson I have learned from all of this is always use Mobil one and always check for the gasket in the old oil filter. It was a hard lesson learned but well worth it. My confidence in Mobil one is at its highest right now mybe I'll go out and buy a couple more cases. Thank God for that stuff. Now we have it in real world testing with all the oil drained form an engine Mobil one works with no damage to the engine! Now all I have to do is add the oil pressure gauge and all my fears will be gone.
