I suggest you try the oil flush and Mobil One, to attempt to clear up any sludging problem that might have contributed to lower oil pressure. It sounds like you are not into do these things your self. I suggest that you have the dealer hook up a pressure gage to see what your oil pressure is like these days.

Your dealer might not understand the logic of this. Some timing chain problems are the result of low oil pressure that does not allow the hydraulic chain tensioners to do their job. If the pressure is low, it could be from the oil intake screen being full of trash or sludge, or from more serious conditions. The oil pressure pressure relief valve and chain tensioner can be inspected to some extent externally without removal of the timing chain or oil pan. The oil pan needs to come off to inspect the screen. But little of this needs to be done if the oil pressure is good. A new timing chain can be rolled in without removing the timing chain cover. A couple of folks have DIY'd this at home. So that is not difficult or expensive. The valve cover is easily removed to inspect chain condition and sprockets. Take this post to your dealer for them to read. Along with the lub post that discusses some problems with 2.3 NA engines that we are seeing on this BB. Know that the oil pressure is good/bad before you decide to repair or trade-in.
