If it is the tonneau cover that's having problems, try having an assistant help the cover up the first few inches, if it works fine from this point on it usually means the tonneau (fifth bow) motor is separating from the trans. It might even be fixable if you don't wait too long and strip the gears.
There was(is?) a SAAB reinforcement kit, part of an expired recall (see link).
I bolted a steel strap across the back of the motor, I've heard of even using a big hose clamp to secure the motor to the trans if you cannot find the reinforcement kit.
The Saab site sells the whole assembly exchange for $350.
