Thought I?d post an update since from time to time I?ve seen others post the same question. After getting to know my car better I realized the dealer during the first radiator flush around 35K didn?t use the Saab brand coolant. Normally I wouldn?t care so much but they charged me more then retail for the stuff and got a bit short when I questioned why. They basically said we put blue in if the car comes in with blue otherwise we use similar green stuff.
Again it was really there attitude that got me going. So I looked into this a little more and found the dealer didn?t even stock the Saab brand so I wondered how they could replace it if in fact a car came in with the Saab brand blue coolant. The parts guy told me it would take 2 days a least to get it in.
After a little more back forth they agreed to order, flush and replace the fluid they put in the car during my last major service 65K with the Saab brand. I also made them put in my records that they used a non Saab brand product. That way if I should have problems in the future as least I?ve got that in my records. again, I realize there is little to gain from this but I think if your going to the dealer and charged for Saab products then they need to deliver on that word or tell you and charge accordingly.
So if your reading this and your car was last serviced by a dearer you should have the Saab blue fluid in your car. If they are using green stuff because that?s what was in before the flush don?t by it. They are just saving money by using a cheaper product. Do I think it will heart your car. No way.
