Tronic Upgrades (ECU) Upgrades

Is there anyone that can tell me from experience how well these ECU tronic upgrades really work. I have a 1998 900 S Saab Turbo 2 door and I wanted to upgrade the ECU. I was told by the dealership to stay away from them because the check engine light comes on alot. Is this true. What company has the best ECU Tronic Upgrades? I upgraded my exhaust to the sport exhaust with carbon tip and upgraded the hooter valve to a trent valve. This valve makes my car slower of the line and I was told this is the same system the Viggen uses, however when the car gets up to about 20MPH it seems to work, I cant really tell though. Will this change in a couple days does my computer just need to figure it out?
However after researching the web extensivley I found out there is a company out now that does work with Saab for performance and both that company and the dealer back up the warranty? I think this is overseas though. Anyway any help would be great THANKS!!!
