This could just be the linkage ($350). I do recall a post exactly as yours where the person disregarded the mechanic suggestion to replace the tranny and only did the linkage. All was FINE. Ed G wants someone to be as miserable as he was, watch out for him. $2700? Why not start with just the linkage upgrade, then do the tranny only if you have! Maybe start to save a bit and get a good price from good indy. Good luck.
