The thermostat is located at the opposite end of the upper radiator hose. You need to disconnect two wire connectors, then move the connector bracket out of the way. Don't believe the Haynes Manual where it says to remove a pipe from the water pump. That's not necessary. Torque the thermostat housing bolts to 22 Nm (16 lb-ft).
