you can generalize, but you need to get under the car with a flashlight. Use ramps or jackstands or have the service guy SHOW YOU the leak.
Top to bottom is the rule. Open hood, look at valve cover this is the top of the engine - 1" down there is a seam between the head and the valve cover. Leaks? Now look down another 4-5" at the head gasket between the head and the block. Leaks?
If you have not found leaks yet - time to get under the car. Oil drain plug? Oil filter? Filter housing/oil line junction? Now look for the bell housing a large half round section several inches from the oil pan toward the drivers side. If coming from here may be rear seal - big bucks for replacement of a 16.00 seal as the clutch will have to come out. If head gasket or rear seal I would take the car back and demmand a refund or HUGE discount on the repair. Read ...FREE.
