I beleive the change to hydralic happened with 1998 Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: They went to hydraulic clutch mid-year (-), Vlad, Fri, 2 May 2003 14:57:13 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
model.
I have found no proof that late 97 have the hydralic clutch. The parts catalog doesn't give any evidence of it either.
As long as the Saab was sold and manufactured as an 97, I think it was equipped with clutch wire.
It used to be that the break off month between two years was August/September. August being the older year and September the new one.
But in the later years that have changed quite a bit, and become more flexible.
One customer have a 1999 9-5 (no 98 was sold in US) but the manufacturing tag on driver door says 09/97, which would make it an early 1998 in a regular case.
I also don't see vary many cars manufactured in June, July and August, it seems that the plant is already gearing up for the new model coming out in Fall and don't bother cranking out old models that might be sitting on the lot unsold in favor of the new model release.
