My 1998 900SET had the same problem. A/C would work OK for several minutes then the air would just stop flowing from the vents. There was a high pitched whistle from the cabin fan area as the fan tried but could not get any air thru the A/C evaporator. If I put the ACC system in "Econ" mode, after several minutes the air flow would return.
Had the 'frost sensor' replaced (car was still under warranty) and everything is well.
