I'm beginning to think its CAR-ma for me:
1997 900SE Turbo, Purchased @ 75k in Dec of 2000. One month after purchase the blower motor died, causing wiring harness and resistor to melt, $500 to fix everything (a year later - no heat/ac for a year!). @ 87k: battery and alternator both died: $600. 91k: Flex Pipe and muffler acquired holes, replaced myself for $200. 102k, 2 clutch cables $100. 109k, a 3rd clutch cable (which I did myself this time and still holding). 125k: turbocharger was burning oil (heavy white smoke) so I ripped the old one out, and installed a refurbed one for $775 (plus $250 core). Already the alternator is on its way out again and AC compressor will need replacement soon. Rear Oxygen sensor also needs replacement. Suspension needs to be taken appart to replace a $12 part (Strut bearing). Other than that, its a great ride. Hope that gives you some idea...
