I have a 97 SET, and run the stock 205/50/16s in the summer. I agree with the recommendations on 15" winter tires and offer the following suggestions:
Alternative tire sizes are 195/60/15, and 185/65/15.
If you live in a place like DC where you get occasional snow, you might be very happy with some 195/60/15 all-season/winter tires like the Nokian WR. If you live someplace like NY or St. Louis, perhaps a more winter-oriented tire like the Pirelli Winter 210 Snowsport...again in the 195/60/15 size. If you live in New England or Upper Mid-West, you might go for a more hard core winter tire like the Blizzak WS-50 or Michelin Arctic Alpin in the 185/60/15 size.
Good luck
