I've been poring through this board trying to figure out what the heck is wrong with my '95 900SE 5 speed (87k miles).

I'll be cruising along (both high and low speed) and the power will cut out and then back in again. Every once in a while it will stall (even on the freeway). Once I pull over, it restarts with no problem. Recently it's started stalling in slow traffic with no warning but starts right back up again.

I took it to the local Saab mechanic and they couldn't recreate the problem and were unable to diagnose it and were frankly of no help at all.

So, after reading multiple posts here, it sounds like I need to replace the DIC (I'm the original owner and it has never been replaced). Before I go off and spend $300, does that sound right? Could it be something else? Is there any way to check the DIC without buying a new one?
