When you say loss of power, you mean a general loss of electical power or just the engine cutting out?
At 87K, the DIC is getting long in the tooth.
If you were going to keep the vehicle, I would state that you should get the DI cassette in anycase.
The DI's usually just die and don't give you a second chance or a warning. There are some dealers that will charge $750 for a DIC. And a breakdown in the middle of nowhere is not much fun either. This is why the ignition switch must be considered as well. And some have done this DIY. Not easy at all. Search and read. I am glad that I am not able to post details :)
