I have a 95 900s with 110k and had to replace the shocks this summer. They were visibly rusted and rode like a brick. Put in a set of new, inexpensive KYB shocks - took about 30 mins per side using my floor jack - pretty easy job. Cost was like $47 per shock via eEuroparts. I agree on using a place like Sears. simple job, and unless you're really picky about your handling, a new set of rear shocks (even run-of-the-mill ones) makes a world of difference.
