I replaced the rear shocks on my 97 900 v6 a few months ago. I used the saab OEMs, they were about 100 bucks each from e-europarts.com.
Pretty easy job, except the upper mounting nut was difficult to screw down tight b/c the whole bolt assemly twists as you are turning (poor design).
Anyway, I used a pair of locking pliers to try and hold it still but this method also slightly damaged the threads. Had I to do it all over again, I would have been a little more gentle with the pliers.
