Just to make up for my negative review of a Pulitzer Prize winning book, I am going to give an A++++ review for a different Pulitzer Prize for fiction; The Known World, by Edward P. Johnson. I could not put this one down (link below):

The Known World tells the story of Henry Townsend, a black farmer and former slave who falls under the tutelage of William Robbins, the most powerful man in Manchester County, Virginia.
