Well way too many hours spent on this project...bought a 99 Viggen a few months ago with 36K miles on it. PO took good mechanical care, but the exterior was average in terms of scratches etc. Finally had a chance to tear it down. I had the lower half of the front spoiler repainted since it had so many scratches and I touched up all chips and scratches myself using a sanding block, 3M Rubbing Compound and 3M Hand Glaze - Some came out excellent and some look better - might rework them at some point.
OK... So here was my process:
Interior:
1) Cleaned leather with Zymol Leather cleaner and conditioner
2) Wiped down dash and all areas with water and Armor All All purpose cleaner
3) Tuff Stuff on Headliner
4) Stoners Invisible Glass on all mirrors and windows
5) Dust vents
6) Vacuum entire Car
Exterior
1) Washed with Dawn - 2 hour deep scrub
2) Fixed Scratches, chips with Saab Touch-up Paint, sanding block (2000), 3M Rubbing Compound and 3M Hand Glaze.
3) Second wash with Dawn - 1 hour quick scrub
4) Zaino Z-18 Clay Bar - 2 hours (I also clayed the windshield - WOW!!)
5) Zaino Z-7 Car Wash - 1 hour
6) 1 Coat of 3M Imperial Hand Glaze - 2 hours
7) 1 Coat of P21S Carnuba wax - 1.5 hours
8) 1 Full Car Spray of Zaino Z-6 boost - 20 minutes
9) Stoners Invisible Glass
10) Mothers Chrome Cleaner on Tailpipe, rims
11) Back to Black on all grey trim
12) Tires left as is! No gunk
Unfortunately its getting dark so my pictures don't show the high shine, but you can see how smooth the hood is now. Car looks excellent now and a detailing cloth slides off the hood with ease. What a nice feeling.
If the sun is out tomorrow I will try and take some more pics in better light in the morning and post them to the website.
Thanks for some of the tips!
