Just like on your paint there is embedded tar, bug remnants and other garbage on the windshield that doesn't come off easily during a regular wash or scrub. In my case the PO wouldn't have cleaned a car the way I would from day one so I am sure there was 36K of build-up on that windshield - with the clay I got it all off and it was visibly clearer. Might not be so visible if your car is newer or you have kept up on the cleaning and scrub your windshield all the time. I haven't run the windshield wipers yet so I don't know of they will be smoother. Likely so, but now I will be avoiding the rain like I do potholes;)
